The brake master cylinder converts pedal force into hydraulic pressure and distributes it through the brake lines to the calipers and wheel cylinders at all four corners. Signs of failure include: a brake pedal that sinks slowly to the floor when held, a brake fluid leak from the master cylinder body or reservoir, or a soft spongy pedal that cannot be improved by bleeding.
