The turn signal switch activates the directional indicator circuit when the driver moves the stalk up or down, and typically includes a self-canceling mechanism that returns the stalk after a turn is completed. Signs of failure include: a turn signal that stays on without self-canceling, a stalk that is loose or broken, or a signal that does not activate in one direction. Replace a failed turn signal switch to restore full directional signaling.
