The crankshaft repair sleeve is pressed over a worn crankshaft sealing surface to restore a smooth, undamaged surface for the new seal to ride on, providing a lasting fix for a leaking crank seal. Signs that a sleeve is needed include: a new crank seal that leaks shortly after installation, or a visible groove worn into the crankshaft by the old seal. Install a repair sleeve for a permanent solution rather than repeatedly replacing the seal.
