The coolant temperature sensor monitors engine coolant temperature and sends that reading to the ECM, which uses it to adjust fuel delivery, ignition timing, and cooling fan operation. Signs of failure include: a check engine light with a coolant temperature code, the temperature gauge reading incorrectly, the engine running rich or lean, or the cooling fans not activating at the correct temperature. Replace a faulty sensor to restore proper engine management.
Vemo manufactures sensors, switches, and electronic components primarily for European vehicles. Quality varies significantly by component type - some products are excellent OE-equivalents while others are inconsistent. Research specific part numbers before ordering.
