The fuel injector connector carries the voltage pulse from the ECM that triggers the injector to open and spray fuel, and a faulty connector can cause a cylinder-specific misfire. Signs of failure include: a misfire code on a specific cylinder that persists after replacing the injector, visible melting or broken terminals at the connector, or an injector that tests good out of the vehicle but causes a fault when connected. Replace the connector to restore a reliable injector trigger signal.
