The knock sensor connector carries the vibration signal from the knock sensor to the ECM, and damage or corrosion here can mimic a sensor failure. Signs of failure include: a knock sensor code that returns after sensor replacement, visible damage at the connector, or an intermittent fault. Replace the connector if the wiring connection is the true root cause of the fault.
