Brake caliper bolts secure the caliper to its bracket and must be torqued correctly to ensure the caliper can slide freely and apply even pressure to the rotor. Signs of a problem include: a caliper that sticks or drags, uneven brake pad wear, a grinding or squealing noise from one wheel, or a bolt that is corroded, seized, or has stripped threads. Replace damaged caliper bolts and apply fresh lubrication during every brake service.
