The lateral arm, also called a lateral link or toe link, controls the lateral position of the rear wheel and is critical for maintaining correct toe angle and straight-line tracking. Signs of failure include: the rear of the vehicle wandering or drifting on the highway, pulling to one side, uneven rear tire wear, or a clunking noise from the rear suspension over bumps. Replace a damaged or worn lateral arm to restore proper rear wheel alignment and stable handling.
