The starter solenoid connector carries the trigger signal from the ignition circuit to the starter solenoid, which then closes the high-current circuit between the battery and starter motor. Signs of failure include: no starter engagement despite a good battery and relay, visible burning or corrosion at the connector, or an intermittent no-start that clears when the connector is wiggled. Replace a damaged connector to restore a clean trigger signal to the starter solenoid.
